Musings & Memories

My First Born

Watching her 1st three-year-old child play outside around the 2005 NYC Christo Gates, repeating out loud, “Mama I do not like these gates.†It was clear he had both an old soul, a strong mind, an art critic at the early age of three and a young man who knows much about many!

My Middle Child

Gazing at her brilliant bold middle child who loved laying on the rotunda floor of the Guggenheim just to see the building’s skylight or oculus, from the ground perspective of course, this location was the “right†one. Since then, she knows just what’s right for her!!

My Youngest

Lastly,  recalling how her now over 6 feet tall baby loved observing the engineering of everything! Smelser especially loves remembering how enamored of riding the Central Park carousel he was. How curious the engineered brain of this baby, questioning “Mama how did Micawber, the squirrel get up to his cupola once he opened his own art gallery in the old Carousel’s cupola?

For Stephanie all her “Art- mom†or “Elmo’s World†memories are an era of beauty and endless blessings that forever live deep within the heart and soul of Steff Smelser…in the future there will be more stories to share. “Peace out!†– M.M.
