Welcome to 360 STATE STREET- NEW HAVEN Visual Activist Art Show

A visual depiction of various diseases that have impacted many lives close to the heart of Steff Smelser. Steff Smelser collaborated with Nathan Hale, New Haven middle school students in the fall of 2023 to raise awareness of multiple diseases. On September 15, 2023, Steff attended Under the Stars, a benefit for the Cure Rare Diseases foundation and this was the catalyst for cell creating series. Art activism is dynamic practice combining the creative power of the arts to move us emotionally and raise further awareness about their painted microscopic cell compositions, which showcased information and raised awareness on Addiction, A.L.S., Alzheimer’s disease, Breast Cancer, Colon Cancer, Dementia (Lewy body dementia), Diabetes, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Pancreatic Cancer, Cure Rare Disease and Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
